Why is my site called DashingDave.com? Why is my nickname Dashing Dave? Am I an egomaniac? Do I run or lot or something? Do I have Vixen's phone number?

I have to admit that the nickname "Dashing" is not my creation--though it's certainly been popular since its inception in September, 1993. That's when I started my Freshman year at Dartmouth College, where every dorm floor on campus has UGAs (UnderGraduate Advisers) to help incoming Freshman cope with the mayhem that teenagers encounter in their first year.

My UGA (Rose Lee) introduced me to some of her friends (Brad and Jen... no, not that Brad and Jen....) during my second day on campus. As I had, and still have, an awful auditory memory, I used alliteration to remember their names by given them nicknames: Berry Brad and Jumping Jen. ...Yeah, not only was I a foxy-lookin' guy, I practically oozed creativity as well! ... In the theme of this nicknaming, Rose called me Dashing Dave--because I was wearing rather preppy clothes at the time (probably dark slacks, a button-up long-sleeve dress shirt, and a patterned sweater), and apparently I looked good in them.

So, now, the nickname lives on in infamy, long after my days at Dartmouth. I certainly don't mind--it's catchy, and it's better than other alliterations that could be made. Those of you thinking Dorky Dave, this means you!
